穆里外地区公园 is located 45 minutes west of 奥克兰 city. It's an area of outstanding beauty, with a rugged coastline, and 50 kilometres of black sandy beach.

Muriwai海滩 is a popular spot for surfers with boards, wet suit and blokart hire available and the Muriwai surf Club.

The regional park was formed in 1906 and was known as 'Motutata Domain' where it took its name from the Motutara rock stack. Over the years, the domain expanded before becoming 穆里外地区公园 in the 1969.

The park includes picnic areas, a decent cafe, the 沙·邓兹咖啡馆, and a number of walking trails through the the native bush.

The park runs from the Maori Bay (Maukatia), 在南方, alongside Muriwai beach for eight kilometres. Scenic picnic spots and accessible walking tracks set in native bush make 穆里外地区公园 a popular weekend destination to 奥克兰er`s and visitors alike.
